Students and educators don't need another person talking at them. Jaymes creates the kind of room where people laugh, participate, lower their guard, and actually listen.
Middle School is HARD. 7th Graders are going through so many changes. Jaymes shares about his own struggles with middle school and how Education changed his life. Students (and educators) leave feeling inspired that they can make a difference in their own lives and the lives around them with the choices they make today.
Whether he's speaking to a gym full of 7th graders or a room full of educators, the goal is to give people something useful enough that will impact them for the rest of the school year.
Encouragement to think beyond labels, popularity, mistakes, and other people's expectations.
A practical reminder that small decisions shape the person, leader, and community member we are becoming.
A challenge to notice people, show up well, and help create a place where others can belong and thrive.
Jaymes Lackey was born and raised in Oroville and has spent years working with students, educators, families, churches, schools, and community organizations throughout Northern California.
He brings the same thing to every room: humor, curiosity, honesty, and a genuine interest in helping students think more clearly about who they are and the kind of community they want to create.
His wife, Erin, often joins school visits with photography, cotton candy, and the kind of joyful energy that helps turn an event into something people remember.
Jaymes' goal isn't to give people a perfect speech. It's to create a moment that actually sticks.
